Queen Annes Rule!

Leading a creative doll life and keeping my brain and soul happy.

Why Create Queen Anne Dolls?
18th Century Queen Anne dolls have always intrigued me. They sure do have character. And sometimes a real attitude. I just can't resist their little  Mona Lisa faces!

I use only supplies from my various stashes or recycle items found at the thrift store. Fabrics and materials are not always of natural fibres, but they look the part. The ladies wear researched costumes, rather than historically hand constructed clothing.

My cloth Queen Annes and their garments are not antiqued nor distressed to make them 'real'. Surely there was a time when dolls were brand new surprises ready to be loved?

Please join me for more on creating the 'babies' and their wardrobes. And feel free to use some of my techniques. Current work is displayed in the Gallery and the Blog documents my ongoing experiments and progress.

Feedback in the comments is always appreciated. Send me a note, and if you wish, I'll add you to the mailing list.

ABOUT ME

Retiring after forty years as a professional Costumer in theatre, film and television has made finding new creative outlets both fun and challenging.

There are a wide range of skills stored in my creator tool box, including couture sewing, pattern drafting, dyeing and designing. The possible projects are endless. Painting, crafting and knitting hobbies also inspire my creative self. It's time to revisit my love of doll making and dressing.

Please follow me on my quest to stay off the couch and keep my brain exercised too.  So many doors are open to me, with so much to explore in 18th Century fashion and accessories for Queen Anne dolls. And if any of my experiments resonates, I'd love to hear from you. Because creativity lives in us all!
